MYSTERIOUS MARCAHUASI |
The Marcahuasi (Marka Wasi) plateau mapped and written about in
the 1950's by Peruvian archaeologist Dr. Daniel Ruzzo, is squarely attributed to
the field of forbidden archaeology.
Legendary for its gigantic anthropomorphic
and zoomorphic stones dating back thousands of years before the great flood, the
plateau sits at an altitude of over 12,000 feet above sea level, reached by a
trek on foot or horseback along a steep path from the tiny village of San Pedro,
located on the western Andean ridge of Peru.
Known to Andean shamans as a place "beyond the veil of
time," legends of mysterious anomalous phenomenon including balls of light,
encounters with inner-earth beings, subterranean chambers, and tales of
levitation are not uncommon to this ethereal landscape.
